BIOPLA
Farmers of the Vega de València, will lead the BIOPLA project that will produce biodegradable containers with rice straw from the Albufera.
Funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency of the Generalitat Valenciana. The main objective of the project is to recycle an agri-food waste typically produced in the Valencian region, such as rice straw, into components for the manufacture of bioplastics.
The project constitutes a great advance in the management of this type of waste and in the Valencian circular economy of a sector as important as agriculture for the region.
Part of the activities will be carried out at the SAV Bioprocess demonstration plant in Paiporta and the project work will have the collaboration of the Technological Institute of Plastic AIMPLAS, which has extensive experience in the field of the same, and two Valencian companies from different areas that will cover the entire value chain, from the compounding of PLA (Prime Biopolymers), to the market study of the products obtained (VIROMII)
